Thousands of civilians have been killed, injured, and displaced in Palestine since the Israel-Gaza war began on Oct. 7. At least 6,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, including over 2,000 children. Over 14,000 are wounded and in need of medical attention.

The Israeli government has placed a complete siege on Palestine, stopping essential humanitarian aid like food, water, medical supplies, and fuel from reaching the residents.

UNICEF has sent trucks full of aid to Palestinians through the Rafah border crossing after U.S. President Joe Biden and Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el-Sissi reached an agreement. The aid, however, is not enough.

UNICEF needs more aid to help the children and families in Gaza. The organization is asking for donations to help get drinking water, food, electricity, and medicine to the hundreds of thousands who are trapped in the war zone.

Palestine urgently needs humanitarian supplies. Executive Director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell, said:
“With one million children in Gaza now facing a critical protection and humanitarian crisis, the delivery of water is a matter of life or death. Every minute counts. This first, limited water will save lives, but the needs are immediate and immense – not just for water but for food, fuel, medicine and essential goods and services. Unless we can provide humanitarian supplies consistently, we face the real threat of life-threatening disease outbreaks.”
